Before departure
- Understand Ayyappa devotion and find your Guruswamy.
- Agree on the observance, undertake Mala Dharanam and follow Vratham.
- Confirm temple opening, official booking and the route your group will take.
- Prepare the Irumudi in the guided Kettunirakkal ceremony.
- Pack personal essentials separately and agree on group meeting points.
On the way to Swamy
Follow the chosen route and learn the significance of its places. At Pamba and on the ascent, use designated paths and current queue instructions. Ritual customs must fit the permitted movement and conditions on the day.
At Sannidhanam
Your guide can explain the traditional sequence of Darshanam, offerings and associated shrine visits. Follow temple staff for the actual movement. Leave time to collect prasadam and regroup before descending.
Return and completion
Plan onward transport, carry prasadam respectfully and complete the vow according to your tradition. Continue the patience and care practised during the observance.
