The river in sacred tradition

The Pandalam narrative connects the riverbank with the discovery of Manikanta. Devotees also associate the Pamba with purification and preparation before approaching the hill shrine.

Snanam and worship

Traditional accounts describe a sacred bath and worship at Pamba Ganapathy before the ascent. River entry must follow current safety and access directions. A devotional custom does not override a restriction caused by water levels or crowd management.

Care for the river

Do not leave clothing, packaging or ritual waste in the water. Use designated facilities and disposal points. Keep the place clean for fellow devotees and the communities downstream.

Prepare to climb

Regroup, confirm the permitted path, carry drinking water and keep essential documents accessible. Agree on a meeting point in case the group becomes separated.
