Malikappurathamma

Malikappurathamma is worshipped as Bhagavathi at Sabarimala. Sacred accounts of her relationship with Ayyappa differ, including narratives associated with Mahishi and the Cheerappanchira household. Present those accounts as distinct traditions.

Vavar Swami

The friendship of Ayyappa and Vavar is remembered in pilgrimage traditions, especially at Erumeli. It is an important expression of respect and shared devotional memory. Follow local custodians’ directions at places associated with Vavar.

Manimandapam and other sacred places

Manimandapam has a special place in the narrative and festival observances. Not every sacred place is open for the same kind of access throughout the season. Ask your guide about the significance, and temple staff about permitted movement.
